What is the difference between sheep milk infant formula and other infant formulas?
The main difference between sheep milk infant formula and other formulas is its ease of digestion. Because sheep milk has smaller fat globules (natural medium-chain fatty acids) it is very gentle on the digestive systems of babies and children; great for those little ones with sensitive tummies.
Does this mean sheep milk contains different nutritional levels?
Sheep milk infant formula provides all the vitamins, minerals and proteins needed for your baby’s daily diet.
In fact sheep milk is naturally higher in many of the important nutritional substances such as protein, calcium, iron, magnesium, zinc, thiamin, riboflavin, Vitamins B6, B12 and D.
What about lactose intolerance?
Many people who have intolerances or sensitivities to other types of milk find they can consume sheep dairy products successfully. This is due to the higher levels of medium/short chain fatty acids which aids in the absorption of lactose.
So do I have to feed my child more frequently?
Is the preparation different to what I’m used to?
No, not at all. The process of sterilising your bottles and utensils, boiling and cooling safe drinking water and adding the correct, measured amount of formula is the same as what you’re used to doing if you’ve been using a different infant formula product. You can view the specific quantities and preparation guide for our infant formulas here: 1 – Infant Formula, 2 – Follow-on Formula, 3 – Toddler Milk Formula.
